Perm - Ob/Gyn Physician – Bad Axe, MI
McLaren Thumb Region is seeking a dedicated and experienced Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn) physician to join our established practice in Bad Axe, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity to quickly transition into a well-managed, patient-focused environment, following the retirement of a longstanding provider.
Position Overview:
- Employed position with a financially stable organization
- Assumes an existing patient panel with continuity of care
- Office location at 1100 South Van Dyke Road, conveniently situated near the hospital
- Involves outpatient clinic duties and obstetric practice within a supportive team environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive OB/GYN services to a diverse patient population, including prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care
- Manage gynecological routine and specialized procedures, including approximately 460 procedures annually
- Attend to a full patient volume of 30-40 patients daily, covering both inpatient and outpatient needs
- Perform scheduled surgeries on a dedicated surgical day
- Collaborate closely with a team comprising one full-time MD, one Nurse Practitioner (NP), and supporting medical assistants
- Utilize on-site diagnostic tools such as ultrasound, non-stress testing (NST), intrauterine insemination (IUI), and phlebotomy services
- Ensure documentation within the hospital's EMR system; clinic currently uses paper charts
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Valid DEA license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Eligible for Michigan medical license
- Open to J1 visa candidates; H1B sponsorship is not available
