Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an OB/GYN Hospitalist for locum tenens coverage in Cincinnati, OH. This opportunity offers 12-hour shifts with full labor and delivery coverage and support from onsite staff.
Description:
We are seeking an experienced OB/GYN Hospitalist to provide locum coverage in the hospital’s labor and delivery unit. The provider will work alongside 2 midwives, 1 OBGYN, and 2 APPs, managing both low- and high-risk pregnancies.
Assignment Details:
- Start Date: December 29, 2025
- Schedule: 12-hour restricted call, 7a–7p
- Practice Setting: Hospital OB/GYN Laborist
- Reason for Coverage: Openings in L&D unit
- Total Beds: 30
- Average Patients Per Day: Laborist coverage in hospital
- Support Staff: Full L&D hospital department
- Exam Rooms: 30
- Onsite Lab/Ultrasound: Yes
- EMR: Epic
- Trauma Level/Designation: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital
- Patient Mix: 70% low-risk pregnancy, 10% high-risk pregnancy, 25% C-section rate
Required Obstetrics Procedures:
- Low-risk pregnancy management (history of twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis, etc.)
- High-risk pregnancy management (toxemia, diabetes, Class II+ cardiac disease, chronic lung or renal disease, etc.)
- FHR interpretation – NST/CST/FSE
- OB ultrasounds – Level I/II/Targeted interpretation
Labor & Delivery Procedures:
- Routine vaginal deliveries, low-forceps
- Decision-making for C-section
- Complicated deliveries including C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs
- Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
