• Call only
• May 13th 7a - May 16th 7a
• 1 weekend per month to start
• During the week, this would be 7p - 7a
• Weekends can be 12-24 hour shifts, or longer if desired
  • Max would be Fri 5pm - Mon 7am

Clinical Details

• Outpatient and inpatient
• Patients per shift: 15
• Beds in department: 18
• Rounding patients: assigned
• Stroke certified facility
• Admissions required
• Trauma level 2
• Average number of deliveries per year: 1500
• Weekday mornings, providers would round on their own patients
• On Sat and Sun AM, only the call physician rounds on all patients
• Also involves covering the ER, and might result in an occasional D&C, management of ectopic, emergent GYN surgery, GYN readmit, though this is not a frequent occurrence

Requirements

• Board Certified
• Active MO License or IMLC
• Fellowship
• ACLS

Call

• Beeper/phone call, but current laborist usually stays in house at night
• Call room in L&D area
• Call response time required: 20 minutes
• Call ratio: 1:4
• Call back: 50%
• Patients seen: 10
• Admissions: 5
