**Locums OBYGN Hospitalist Opening in Springfield Missouri **
**Coverage**

**Position Details**
FT or PT candidates accepted (both with weekday availability to do locums work with us starting in March until such a time we no longer need locums coverage. Full time candidate would be approx. 144 hours per month with a mix of 12 and 24 hour shifts, depending on scheduling needs. )
OBGYN Hospitalist position. We do not consider ourselves laborists, as some gyn coverage is provided on occasion. It is not fully a true laborist job.

**Pertinent Details**:
The Generalist OB group will be taking call for their private patients.
With the decrease in workload for the hospitalist on call, the call shifts will be changed to 12 or 24 hours going forward. With a 7 am/7 pm sign out. weekday and weekend coverage
All shifts in 2024 will be 12 or 24 hour shifts, 7a-7p or 7a-7a.
OBGYN with ABOG Board Certified is a must.
To clarify, the position is a HOSPITALIST position (not call coverage).
Weekend shifts are
6 am to 3 pm
2 pm to 11 pm
10 pm to 7 am
Patients per shift: 9 max scheduled cases/day (not including unscheduled patients who are admitted) 3 cases night shift, 6 cases day shift
Beds in Department: 12 LDR + 3 low intervention rooms (midwifery)
# of RNs: Days average 7-9 floor nurses (plus 1 charge, 2 triage RNs), Nights average 5-6 floor nurses (plus 1 charge, 2 triage RNs) this number drops by about 1-2 nurses on weekend due to lower case-load
# of MAs: We dont have MAs, but we have OB Assistants (3 on days, 2 on nights) and Surgical Technicians (3 on days, 2 on nights)
# of PA/NPs: 4 midwives that care for patients collaborate with physicians with increased in level of care situations
