- Work Dates Needed: July ongoing
- Preferred Schedule: 24 Hour Call (Beeper Hold) 7a - 7a
- Worksite Setting: Beeper Call within 30 Minutes / Inpatient
- Scope of Work: 24-hour call coverage. Clinic hours are not scheduled but you can anticipate seeing approximately 2 patients per day. Call-back hours inclusive of patient contact after 2 gratis hours, necessitate documented reasons. The duration of hospital stays varies depending on situational requirements. Situations prompting the on-call locum OB to be summoned to the hospital include rounding and deliveries, as well as occasions requiring epidurals, surgery, or anesthesia. Specializing in handling both low and high-risk pregnancies, interpreting fetal heart rate monitoring, and performing obstetric ultrasounds, the physician must manage a broad spectrum of obstetric procedures. Proficiency in cesarean sections, VBACs, and repairing 3rd & 4th degree lacerations is imperative. Expertise in office/minor gynecology procedures and surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and operative interventions, is also essential. During locum coverage, the physician will be supported by two registered nurses (RNs), and supervision of advanced practice providers is not mandated.
