Job Details

Mayo Clinic coverage in Austin, MN and Albert Lea, MN - provider would split locum duties with another provider
  • Coverage Reason: Short-staffed
  • Anticipated Start: As soon as credentialed
  • Duration of Assignment: 1 year (with likelihood to extend)
  • How many providers needed: 2
Scope of Work
  • Inpatient, Outpatient, Hospital, Clinic, & Call Duties
  • Call is a requirement
  • Call Ratio: Varies based on delivery volumes, 1:3 or 1:4
    • # Calls (Day): 2-5, variable
    • # Calls (Night): 2-5, variable
    • # Patients seen (Day): 3-6
    • # Patients seen (Night): 1-3
    • # of Admissions (Day): 1-2
    • # of Admissions (Night): 1-2
  • Shift Information: 24 hour call shifts, 8 hour clinic days, OR days can vary. Can be flexible on shift days and times to meet needs
    • Overall the Mayo Clinic scheduling system is very accommodating and flexible for providers
  • Average # of patients per shift: Call upwards of 10 patients per shift / Clinic upwards of 14 patients per shift
  • Patient Demographic: Adolescents, Adult, Geriatric
  • Support Staff: LPN's, RN's, and NP/PA's
  • Locum will be required to supervise other healthcare providers, but it does vary at sites. CNM's or NP/PA's
  • Charting Options: Dictation, EMR, & Voice Recognition
    • EMR: EPIC

Requirements
  • Board Certification: Required, ABOG
  • Fellowship Required?: No
  • Life Supports Required: BLS, NRP
  • State License: Prefer MN State License in-hand
  • Procedures required: C-Section, D&C, operative management of ectopic, tubal ligation/salpingectomy, & able to see full spectrum of generalist OB/GYN Patients
  • At least 1 year of experience required
