Job description
Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting experienced OB/GYN physicians for 24-hour beeper call hospitalist coverage in Eureka, California. This role includes both URGENT December–January needs and ONGOING 2026 call coverage opportunities. Providers may be submitted for urgent dates, ongoing dates, or both—no requirement to take all.
Details:
We are seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN physicians for 24-hour call coverage. This is off-site call (not in-house) with a 30-minute response time for in-person needs. Call-back billing only applies when the provider returns physically to the hospital. Urgent coverage is needed for December and January, with separate ongoing needs beginning February 2026. Clean files are required for January dates due to temporary privileges; preferred but not required for ongoing 2026 coverage.
Assignment Details:
Location: Eureka, CA 95501
Setting: OB/GYN Hospitalist Call Coverage
Schedule: 24-hour call, 6am–6am
Urgent Coverage Dates:
- January 2–5 (6am–6am)
- January 13–18 (6am–6am)
Ongoing 2026 Coverage:
Beginning February, first two weeks each month (subject to minor adjustments)
- 2/11 6am – 2/14 6am
- 3/11 6am – 3/15 6am
- 4/1 6am – 4/15 6am
- 5/1 6am – 5/17 6am
Clean File Notes:
- Required for January urgent dates (temporary privileges needed).
- Preferred for ongoing 2026 coverage to expedite privileging.
Responsibilities Include:
24-hour off-site call coverage for OB/GYN
Labor management, deliveries, C-sections
OB triage and emergency response
GYN emergency consults
Miscarriage management
Responding to ER concerns related to OB/GYN
30-minute response time to hospital when called in
Required:
- Active California license
- Board Certified or truly Board Eligible
- BLS & NRP certified
- Ability to perform Miscarriage Management
