Position Overview:

Provide OB/GYN patient care in an outpatient setting to a panel of women and, be responsible for the evaluation and management of care according to the accepted practice protocols of Ryan Health. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Ryan Health.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide Obstetrics & Gynecological services for Ryan patients including examinations, diagnoses, and treatment.
  • Initiate, educate, and provide methods of contraception to Family Planning, Prenatal, Post-Partum, and GYN patients.
  • Order appropriate laboratory tests; review laboratory tests on a timely basis, and follow-up according to appropriate OB/GYN protocols. At visits, be aware of any variations or deviations from the norm, and consult/collaborate with the physician, as needed. Refer all high-risk patients for physician evaluation.
  • Participate in on-call rotation from answering service and document calls appropriately.
  • Participate in peer review activities and other Quality Improvement
  • Attend Department/Center meetings as required.
  • Maintain professional competence by attending professional conferences, in-services, seminars, and other educational sessions, as requested.
  • Immediately report any problems and/or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Must demonstrate a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, immediate supervisor, and other employees.
  • Practice accepted infection control measures in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne pathogens standards and Center policies and procedures.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Skills Required:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Ambulatory Care Setting and/or Community Health Care.

Education, Licenses, and/or Certifications Required:

  • Doctor of Medicine
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
