JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing and directing the work performed within the practice of 5 or more providers, and/or managing 2-3 practices of 1-2 providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Will provide support to patients who need to grasp understanding and adapt to the medical psychological and familiar implications of genetic contributions to disease.
• Will provide preconception and prenatal genetic consults for patients with a family or personal history of genetic disorders.
• Will be available to counsel patients with abnormal ultrasound findings and help them have genetic testing ( on the same visit ) if they desire
• Will educate patients and families about inheritance, genetic testing, genetic management, prevention and provide

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors of Science, Masters in Genetic counseling
• A valid Pennsylvania Genetic counseling license
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience is preferred.

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University.
