The UPMC and University of Pittsburgh Department of Radiology is recruiting for a full-time physician-scientist to serve as the Chief of Nuclear Medicine. The applicant should be actively engaged in basic or clinical research with excellent clinical and teaching skills. In addition, he/she should have sufficient administrative experience to lead the division, working closely with physician and hospital leadership. Candidates must possess an MD (or equivalent) degree, be eligible for an unrestricted license in Pennsylvania, and be board eligible/certified in radiology.


Opportunity Details:


• Duties shall include a mix of clinical and academic responsibilities and are anticipated to be approximately 50% clinical and administrative and 50% research, teaching, and service.

• Join a group of 5 Nuclear Medicine Physicians and 2 Fellows

• Call 1:3 or 4 week

• This role also comes with a faculty appointment commensurate with experience and qualifications.

• The UPMC/University of Pittsburgh Division of Nuclear Medicine encompasses a broad and comprehensive program of clinical and research activities with state-of-the-art facilities and exceptional faculty expertise to provide outstanding patient care, teaching, and research opportunities.

• Dedicated teaching and clinical experience is provided to all of the radiology residents in our ACGME accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency to ensure satisfaction of the ABR requirements.

• Additionally, our PET/CT fellowship provides highly supervised clinical instruction in both PET and diagnostic CT interpretation.

• UPMC is a world leader in research and development of both instrumentation (the first PET/CT scanner was invented at UPMC) and radiotracers (over 100 radiolabeled compounds for human and animal use, including Pittsburgh Compound B (PiB)).
