Nocturnist | Philadelphia, PA | 7 On / 7 Off | No Procedures

The Opportunity

Nights at Jeanes are admissions work, not firefighting. You take the overnight admissions alongside the APP team on a 7-on / 7-off rotation, inside a 156-bed Temple Health community hospital with a closed ICU covered by intensivists. No procedures. When something exceeds the campus, Temple University Hospital Main is a direct line rather than a cold transfer call. If you've done nocturnist work where you were the only thing between the floor and disaster, this is a different job.

What You'll Own

• The overnight admissions service, with volume shared across you and the APP team rather than landing entirely on you.
• Medical decision-making, not procedures. None are required in this role.
• A closed ICU with intensivist coverage, so the sickest patients are co-managed rather than solely yours.
• 7-on / 7-off. Half the year is yours, and additional shifts are available if you want them.

Must-Haves

• MD or DO
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Pennsylvania license, or eligibility in process
• Hospitalist experience preferred

Nice to Have

• Prior nocturnist experience
• Epic familiarity
• Interest in eventually moving to a day line

What Working Here Is Actually Like

• $275,000 base plus a quality bonus.
• Full W-2 benefits. Medical, dental and vision from the first of the month after hire; employer-paid life at 1x salary up to $300,000; employer-paid long-term disability at 60% of salary; 401(k). The benefit plan year runs 1 October to 30 September.
• CME allowance and 401(k) with employer match.
• Malpractice and tail both covered. Tail is the one people forget to ask about until they leave.
• Epic throughout Temple Health.
• Direct tertiary access to Temple University Hospital Main Campus.
• Physician-owned and physician-managed since 2012. When you escalate a problem, it reaches a physician who still works clinical shifts.
• Not a locums agency. An ongoing program position with a named, stable team.
• Licensure is faster than you expect if you're coming from out of state. Pennsylvania participates in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, so if you already hold a qualifying license elsewhere, adding this one typically runs one to three weeks rather than months.

It's nights, and nights are nights — 7-on / 7-off blocks of them. The trade is that half the year is genuinely free and the work itself is admissions rather than crisis management. A move to a day line may be possible later, but ask us about it directly rather than assuming; we'd rather you take this job wanting nights than waiting to leave them.
