## Nocturnist opening | Oswego, NY Central New York — Lake Ontario Shoreline ## Position Details * Full-time, permanent position * Setting: Inpatient — med-surg and ICU * Schedule: 7 on/7 off — Tuesday changeover — 7:00p–7:00a * Internal Medicine-trained or Family Medicine-trained * No call required * EMR: Meditech * Planning for 2027 retirement of current nocturnist — ideal start date coordinated accordingly ## Practice Overview Seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Nocturnist to join an inpatient team at a community hospital: * Open ICU with daytime PCCM physicians available and Tele-Intensivist coverage 7:00p–7:00a * Patient census budgeted at 40–48 patients with approximately 5,000 admissions per year * Approximately 6–8 admissions per night * Med-surg unit: 44 private and 4 semi-private rooms * ICU: 8 private rooms — typically utilizing 6 * Adult patients only — 18 years and older * 24/7 specialty on-call providers available * Experience with central lines, intubations, thoracentesis, and paracentesis preferred — other service lines available when capabilities are limited ## Compensation & Benefits * Salary range: $350,000–$400,000 annually * Sign-on bonus: $50,000 * Relocation reimbursement: Up to $10,000 with receipts * Student loan repayment: $30,000 over length of contract (if applicable) * Paid time off: 120 hours * CME time off: 60 hours * Annual CME, dues, and licensure reimbursement: $5,500 * Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance * 403(b) retirement plan * Malpractice paid by employer ## Required Qualifications * MD or DO — Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine * New York medical license or willingness to obtain * Experience with central lines, intubations, thoracentesis, and paracentesis — preferred ## About the Community – Oswego, New York * Charming port city on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario in central New York * Home to the State University of New York at Oswego — vibrant college town atmosphere * Rich maritime history with scenic lakefront parks, lighthouses, and the historic Fort Ontario * World-class fishing including salmon, trout, and walleye on Lake Ontario and the Oswego River * Abundant outdoor recreation including boating, hiking, skiing, and snowmobiling * Affordable cost of living with welcoming, family-friendly communities * Easy access to Syracuse — approximately 35 miles southeast * Four distinct seasons with stunning lake country scenery
