Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA is hiring a full time MD/DO Nocturnist Hospitalist

• Full time position is 180 shifts annually / 15 shifts per month avg
  • 12 shifts per month Nights 8:00 pm to 8:00 am
  • 3 shifts per month which may vary amongst Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday
• All of the traditional full time providers share in covering all shifts (rounding, admitting, and nights). Full time providers cover on average 1-2 nights per month, approx 2-3 admitter shifts, and remaining are rounding shifts. This is based on 15 shifts/mo.
• Rounding shift shared by 5 MD's - typically 90-100 patients per shift
• 12 hour shifts - Swing is 10a-10p M-F and 9a-9p weekends
• This is a flexible schedule - NOT 7 on/7off - schedule is worked out by all providers 60-90 days in advance and holidays are scheduled beginning of the year
• Closed ICU
• No Procedures
• Family Medicine Residents run codes, fall assessments and overnight pronouncements
• EMR is EPIC
• Hospitalist team includes MD's and APC's working together
• Open to a new Grad MD/DO - but preference will be given to provider with 2 to 3 years of hospital work experience
