Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nocturnist Physician to join our team in Brownwood, TX. The Nocturnist Physician will play a vital role in providing medical care to hospitalized patients during overnight shifts. This position offers a flexible schedule and the option to work as a locums/1099 or W2 employee.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients during overnight shifts, including admissions, consultations, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Conduct thorough medical assessments, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Initiate and adjust medical interventions, including medications, procedures, and treatments, as needed, to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and ensure timely and effective communication.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR) system in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery and outcomes.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, clinical guidelines, and advancements in medical practice to maintain clinical competency and provide evidence-based care.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Requirements:

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is required.
  • Current licensure as a physician in the state of Texas.
  • Previous experience as a hospitalist or nocturnist is preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical skills and proficiency in acute care management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Willingness to work overnight shifts with a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
