The Neuropsychologist will provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with neurological, medical, and psychiatric conditions affecting cognition, behavior, and emotional well-being. This role involves evaluating and diagnosing complex brain-behavior relationships, implementing evidence-based interventions, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high standards of inpatient and outpatient neuropsychological care.
Job Responsibilities
• Select, administer, score, and interpret standardized neuropsychological tests to assess cognitive, intellectual, and behavioral functioning.
• Diagnose and treat cognitive and psychological disorders resulting from neurological, medical, or psychiatric conditions.
• Provide psychotherapy, cognitive rehabilitation, behavioral management, and vocational counseling as appropriate.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognoses.
• Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
• Participate in hospital consultations, therapeutic planning, and discharge processes.
• Design, conduct, and publish clinical research, program evaluations, and quality improvement projects.
• Supervise and train interns, fellows, and junior staff in neuropsychological methods and ethics.
• Assist in planning and improving neurological services within the organization.
Qualifications
• Completion of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship and two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology (per Houston Conference guidelines).
• ABPP-CN Board Certification in Neuropsychology (or eligible within two years of hire).
• Active licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a Health Service Provider in Psychology in the practicing state.
• Strong ethical standards consistent with APA Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct.
