Coverage Needed
- Start Date: As soon as credentialed
- End Date: Ongoing, one full week per month
- Schedule: Monday 7am-Monday 7am
- Weekdays: M-F 7am-5pm
- Weeknight Call: 5pm-7am
- Weekend 24-hour Call: Friday 5pm-Monday 7am
Clinical Details
- Trauma Level: Level 1
- Average Number of Cases: 6.75 new consults per day
- List varies 15-40/day, average around 25
- Added surgical cases from call 4-8/week
- Inpatient / acute practice only
- Patient Population: Majority adults and geriatrics, small percentage of adolescent and pediatric cases
- Adolescent and Peds primarily from trauma and transfer out peds facility needs that are not manageable by facility's team
- Required Procedures: General neurosurgery including cranial and spinal trauma management, intracranial hemorrhage, placement of external ventricular drains, hydrocephalus treatment, craniotomy for hematomas or tumors, spinal decompressions and instrumentation
- EMR: EPIC
- Support Staff: 4 daytime APPs (7a-5p), nighttime APPs (7p-7a), Clinic RN, and Medical Assistant support
Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
- Specializing in Brain & Spine complex cases
- Active Illinois License
- 6 hours of stroke-specific CME over a rolling 2-year period (facility can provide CME on-site if needed)
- Clean and easy-to-credential candidates highly preferred
