Job description
A regional health system in South Bend, IN is seeking a Board-Certified Neurologist for inpatient locum coverage to support adult neurology services. This opportunity offers 100% inpatient care with 24-hour call coverage and independent practice supported by an established neurology team.
The locum physician will provide solo inpatient coverage during assigned dates while collaborating with a multidisciplinary neurology group that includes six neurologists (inpatient/outpatient combined) and one Advanced Practice Provider. Onsite lab and imaging services are available, and the EMR system is Epic.
This assignment is designed to meet community coverage needs with clearly defined coverage periods.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage an average of 8–10 hospital-based patients per day
• Deliver 24-hour call coverage, including weekend coverage as scheduled
• Function independently during assigned coverage periods
• Collaborate with neurology colleagues and APP support staff
• Utilize onsite lab and imaging services for diagnostic evaluation
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR
Qualifications
• Active Indiana medical license – Required
• Current NPDB Self-Query (dated within the same month as submission) – Required
• Clean professional background preferred
Working Hours
• Coverage Dates:
o May 28 at 8:00 AM – June 1 at 8:00 AM
o December 21 at 8:00 AM – December 28 at 8:00 AM
• 100% Inpatient setting
