Locums Neurology Need in New Hampshire

Coverage Needed

• Start Date: As soon as credentialed
• End Date: 6-12 months +
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (one-hour scheduled lunch from 12 PM - 1 PM)
  • 3-4 days a week at 1st location
  • 1-2 days per week at another location and/or outreach site

Clinical Details

• Duties: Provides office-based general neurology services to new and established patients (mostly adults and adolescents)
  • Includes medication management, education, and counseling of patients and families
  • Orders diagnostic tests and refers to related specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep medicine) locally
  • Referral to subspecialty neurologists, communication with PCP’s, and occasional in-patient consult
• EMR: Meditech Expanse
• Support Staff: Partners with radiologists, EEG technologists, MAs, RNs, and physical therapists
• Typical productivity: 12 to 16 patients per day, including 2 to 4 new patients
• Appointment durations: 40-60 minutes initially, then 20 minutes for established patients and 60 minutes for new patients
• Comfortable with rural practice/hospital settings
• Most commonly diagnoses encountered are: Migraine, Memory loss, Essential tremor, Parkinson’s disease, Cognitive impairment, Dizziness, Epilepsy, Multiple sclerosis, Polyneuropathy, and Headache

Requirements

• Currently performing and interpreting EMGs without a technician
• Skills to interpret EEGs
• Ability to obtain NH permanent license quickly
• Experience with a broad spectrum of general neurology (at least 2-5 years) preferred
• Selected new graduates from residency or fellowship training may be eligible
• Prior experience in a small hospital desired
• Ability to perform and interpret NCS/EMG studies
• Ability to perform Botox injections highly desirable
