Job description
We are seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Neurologist to provide outpatient neurological care to active-duty service members and their families at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. This position focuses on the evaluation and management of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other complex neurological conditions within a collaborative, interdisciplinary military healthcare setting. The role offers a predictable Monday–Friday schedule, federal holidays, no private-practice billing pressures, and the opportunity to directly support military readiness and recovery.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide outpatient services.
• Provide inpatient care.
• Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergency problems as they occur.
• Perform lumbar punctures.
• Perform and interpret nerve conduction studies and electromyography.
• Performing evoked potentials and electroencephalograms.
• Provide chemodenervation (such as Botox) for common neurological conditions.
Qualifications
• Degree/Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification. must have successful completion of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) approved neurology medical residency.
• Certifications (in addition to Basic Life Support identified in paragraph 1.5.45.6.): None
• Board Certification: Current board certification in adult neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
Working Hours
• On-Call Hours: 750 hours for the six-month period and 1500 hours for the one-year option periods. On-call services are required five days per month. On-Call hours are 1630 – 0730 Monday – Friday (Friday carries into 0730 Saturday morning).
