We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Neurologist to join our team in San Antonio. Job Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:

Conduct comprehensive neurological evaluations of patients.
Diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological conditions including but not limited to stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease.
Treatment and Management:

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Prescribe and manage medications, therapies, and other interventions.
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies.
Patient Education and Counseling:

Provide education to patients and their families about neurological conditions and treatment options.
Offer counseling and support to patients managing chronic neurological conditions.
Collaboration and Coordination:

Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including primary care providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.
Coordinate patient care with other specialists as needed.
Documentation and Compliance:

Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with VA policies and guidelines.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
Research and Continuing Education:

Participate in clinical research and educational activities.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in neurology through continuing medical education.
Quality Improvement:

Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Participate in peer reviews and performance improvement activities.
Safety and Risk Management:

Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to minimize risk to patients and staff.
Identify and report any safety concerns or adverse events.
Emergency Care:

Provide emergency neurological care, including the management of acute strokes and seizures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency Training: Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program leading to eligibility for board certification (approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs).
• Board certified or board eligible in Neurology.
• Subspecialty certificate in Epilepsy (preferred).
• Valid, unencumbered medical license in any US state.

Expertise in conducting and interpreting electroencephalograms (EEG).
