Neurologist Locum Coverage Needs in Michigan!

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a board-certified Neurologist to provide locum clinical and hospital-based coverage beginning in January 2026. The role includes outpatient clinic duties, hospital coverage, and after-hours call, with a focus on comprehensive neurological care including EEG reads and key procedures such as lumbar punctures and radiologic interpretation.

Schedule & Dates

• Start Date: January 2026

• Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

• Outpatient Clinic Appointments: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri — 1:00 PM–3:00 PM (within 8-hour shift)

• Call Coverage: Required after hours, includes night and holiday call

• Patient Volume: 6–8 patients per day

• EMR: Cerner

• Clock-in System: Kronos (no paper timesheets accepted)

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient neurological care during scheduled clinic hours

• Perform inpatient rounds and consultations when not scheduled with outpatients

• Onsite hospital presence required even when outpatient appointments are not scheduled

• Interpret EEGs for both inpatient and outpatient settings

• Participate in after-hours call coverage, including holidays

• Complete required documentation using Cerner EMR system

• Participate in hospital orientation and training (paid at half the hourly rate)

• Submit accurate clock-in/out data via Kronos system

Procedures Required:

• Radiologic Exam Interpretation

• Lumbar Puncture (Spinal Tap)

• EEG

• Brain Death Examination

• Evoked Potentials

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified in Neurology – Required (Board Eligible not accepted)

• Active Michigan Medical License – Required at time of submission

• Active DEA Registration – Required

• Certifications: BLS and ACLS – Required; NIH Stroke Scale/tPA competency – Preferred

• Clean Malpractice History: Must include carrier details and coverage limits

• Immunization Requirements:

  • Hep B, MMR, Varicella (vaccine series or immune titers)

  • Flu (current season)

  • COVID-19 documentation

  • TB (within past 12 months)

  • TDAP (within past 10 years)
