HEADACHE NEUROLOGIST
The Hartford HealthCare (HHC) Ayer Neuroscience Institute is seeking a Headache Neurologist in our premier, ambulatory multi-specialty neuroscience center opening in July 2026 in Norwich, Connecticut. We have a collaborative and inclusive model of care, offering personalized, coordinated care with excellent patient experience. BC/BE Neurologists with fellowship training in Headache medicine are encouraged to apply.
Highlights of this position:
- A renowned interdisciplinary team of providers who are focused on the diagnosis and treatment of all types of headache syndromes.
- Conduct clinical trials and research using state of the art technologies and treatments dedicated to finding new strategies to prevent and treat headaches.
- Train and mentor emerging leaders in the field who are pursuing their fellowship through The Hartford HealthCare Headache Center Fellowship in Headache and Facial Pain program.
- Participate in graduate medical education, professional and public educational programs.
- We support your development and wellbeing through the respected HHC Physician Leadership Development Institute and the groundbreaking Office of Provider Wellness.
- Work in picturesque Mystic, CT. Home of Historic Downtown Mystic, Mystic Aquarium, a host of restaurants and shops and the backdrop for a number of movies.
- Work in the Ayer Neuroscience Institute’s marquee East Region HealthCenter, which is home to primary care, cardiology and vascular services, neuromuscular services, neurosurgery, pain management, movement disorders, imaging and rehabilitation therapy.

By July 2026, we will proudly open a premier, Class A ambulatory neuroscience center in Norwich, Connecticut – a landmark achievement that highlights Hartford HealthCare’s deep trust in the Ayer Neuroscience Institute and an unwavering commitment to expanding and advancing our neuroscience services in Eastern Connecticut.
This thoughtfully designed 18,500 square-foot center will bring together headache, general neurology, epilepsy, neuroimmunology, neuromuscular, stroke, infusion, neurosurgery, pain management, physiatry, EEG/EMG, and diagnostic imaging – all under one roof. Neuromuscular, headache, pain management and neurosurgery services will expand to improve access to care, and the East Region’s first memory care clinic will be established. Additional onsite services will include primary care and rheumatology. Together these services will build a future-ready neuroscience destination that meets our community’s evolving needs.
Located in Eastern Connecticut along the Long Island Sound, Norwich, which is known as 'The Rose of New England', is a city in New London County with a metro population of roughly 275,000 residents. It lies at the confluence of the Yantic and Shetucket rivers, which form the Thames. Rapid industrial growth transformed Norwich into a modern urban center by the early 20th century. Today, Norwich is a thriving city with a stable population, full range of municipal services, a modern industrial park and a minor league ball team. Norwich is located just 45 minutes from Hartford and under 2 hours from Boston and under 3 hours from New York City.
