Join us as a locum Neurology Physician at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center located in Mountain Home, TN.
Job Responsibilities
• Care provided with respect and integration of patient’s beliefs, values, cultural influences, and special needs.
• When requested, coordinate monthly reports to Chief(s) of Neurology.
• Ensure professional Neurology coverage in the inpatient and Emergency department settings when VA Staff Neurologist is unavailable.
• Provide full range of Neurology services as would be provided in state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility.
• Provide academic environment conducive to the training and professional development
Qualifications
• Licensure and certification. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. BC/BE by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Neurology. BLS, ACLS, or equivalent, DEA required.
• Experience. Technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements.
• English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
• Subject to background/security investigation.
• All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical examination.
• Complete an online onboarding process.
• May be required to complete a probationary period.
• Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must be a US citizen to apply for this job.
