Neurology Opportunity - Hastings, NE

An attractive practice opportunity for Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurologist, Fellowship trained in Epilepsy preferred. This unique opportunity presents a variety of engagement possibilities including full hospital employment, shared/split employment agreement with established local Neurology practice, or development of an independent solo practice. Obligations will include inpatient and outpatient care, management of inpatient and ambulatory EEG monitoring units, assistance with coverage of Primary Stroke Center, and cooperative work relationship with established Neurologist. Call ratio 1:3 will be coordinated with outreach clinic schedule, and educational interaction with local physicians, nurses, and patients is expected. This employed position offers a competitive three year salary plus paid vacation and CME, paid malpractice, paid life and disability insurance, a generous retirement plan, a relocation package, and potential loan repayment.

Education/Qualification Requirements
  • Completed Residency in General Neurology – required
  • Completed Fellowship in Epilepsy – preferred
  • Board Eligible – (must complete within 5 years of training)
  • Maintain the required ongoing CME
  • Hold a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Nebraska
  • Hold a current and unrestricted DEA license
  • Hold a current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Be eligible to provide covered Medicare and Medicaid services
  • Be eligible for malpractice coverage as established by the hospital’s carrier Combination of office and hospital patient care
Position Requirements
  • Willing to travel to and support outreach clinics associated with the hospital
  • Manage and improve the inpatient EEG monitoring unit and Ambulatory EEG unit
  • Work cooperatively with the tertiary centers with regard to management of complicated epilepsy patients
  • Assist with coverage in a Primary Stroke Center’ Work cooperatively with established Neurologist
  • One in three on call days, coordinated with outreach clinic schedule
  • Provide education to area physicians, nurses and patients
