Job Summary:

Westchester Medical Center is seeking an in-patient attending hospitalist dedicated to clinical Neurosciences. The successful applicant will join our rapidly expanding, dynamic Neurology team. They will be responsible for providing high-quality care for a broad range of patients with complex neurological illnesses outside the Neurological Intensive Care Unit. The Neurology Department at WMC has a robust quality improvement program, and the successful applicant can expect to be actively involved in this. They will have the opportunity to provide inpatient care for a wide variety of patients with complex neurological illnesses, have the support of a growing faculty of subspecialists, and enjoy a close working relationship with our neurosurgery team as well as a dedicated neurointensivist team. WMC prides itself in being the only comprehensive stroke center in the county, and our dynamic stroke team is the primary provider of stroke care in the Neurology Department. The Neurohospitalist may have the opportunity to participate in our expanding teleneurology and telestroke programs, which provide care for patients in our affiliated hospitals, depending on their interests. In addition to increasing our number of specialists and subspecialists, the Department of Neurology is also actively building a lively and energetic team of advanced practice providers (APPs). The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with our APPs. The Neurohospitalist program at WMC is an academic teaching service, with residents and medical students rotating through the service. This provides an exciting teaching opportunity for the successful candidate through bedside teaching rounds as well as participating in academic teaching opportunities for medical students and residents through New York Medical College.

Shift/Status:

Qualifications / Requirements:

The Neurology Department at WCM prides itself in a welcoming atmosphere emphasizing a collegial work environment in which our faculty are allowed to follow their interests. Our patient population provides constant intellectual challenges and stimulation. Our academic affiliation allows for ample teaching and research opportunities. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Neurology and possess or be eligible for a New York State license. A strong interest in neurosciences, clinical care, teaching, research, and programmatic development is critical to this position.
