Join us as a Nephrology Physician at the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center located in Huntington, WV. *1099 and W-2 options available, inquire for more details. Providers will provide onsite inpatient ward and outpatient clinic coverage including dialysis oversight, as well as on-call coverage as needed.
Period of Performance: 12-month base period 11/1/2026-10/31/2027 w/ 4 additional 12-month renewal options available for a possible total of up to 5 years through 10/31/2031.

What we do:
Monterey teams with general practice, specialists, and allied health practitioners nationwide to provide local coverage for examinees. We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our clients include the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense, and more. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events.

Job Responsibilities
o Evaluation and management of acute kidney injury
o Chronic kidney disease
o End stage kidney disease
o Fluid and electrolyte disorders
o Hypertension
• Medical evaluation and management of nephrolithiasis
• Medical management of extracorporeal treatment for poisonings and intoxications
• Medical oversight of the performance of kidney replacement therapy including:
o Hemodialysis
o Peritoneal dialysis
o Prolonged intermittent kidney replacement therapy and/or continuous kidney replacement therapy
• Placement of central and femoral venous dialysis catheters and percutaneous kidney biopsy
• Provide bedside and clinical consultative services
Qualifications
• Board Certification. All contractor’s physician(s) shall be BC/BE by either the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
• Licensure and certification. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. BLS or ACLS, DEA and NPI required.
• Experience. Must be capable of demonstrating technical proficiency.
• English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
• Subject to background/security investigation.
• Must pass TB test.
• Complete an online onboarding process.
• Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
