GlobalPoint Healthcare is seeking a qualified Nephrology Physician for a long-term contract opportunity in Huntington, West Virginia. This position provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality nephrology care while supporting our nation’s Veterans in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

This is a five-year contract opportunity, making it an excellent option for a physician seeking long-term stability and meaningful patient care.

Job Responsibilities

* Provide comprehensive nephrology evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with kidney-related conditions.
* Provide care during regularly scheduled weekday clinic hours.
* Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
* Review diagnostic studies, laboratory results, and other clinical information to develop appropriate treatment plans.
* Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
* Participate in required weeknight, weekend, and federal holiday on-call coverage.
* Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with applicable clinical and contractual standards.

Qualifications

* Active, unrestricted physician license from any U.S. state
* Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Nephrology or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM)
* Current AHA BLS
* Active DEA registration
* NPI
* Ability to successfully meet all credentialing and contract requirements

Working Hours

Regular Clinic Hours:
Monday through Friday
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

40 hours per week during normal business hours, excluding federal holidays.

On-Call Coverage:
The physician must be available for on-call coverage when the clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

* Weeknight Call: Monday–Thursday, 4:30 PM–8:00 AM
* Weekend Call: Friday at 4:30 PM through Monday at 8:00 AM
* Federal holiday coverage may also be required.

Skills

* Strong clinical expertise in Nephrology and kidney disease management
* Evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic kidney conditions
* Management of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD)
* Experience with dialysis and renal replacement therapies
* Management of electrolyte, fluid, and acid-base disorders
* Ability to interpret relevant laboratory and diagnostic findings
* Strong clinical assessment and medical decision-making skills
* Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
* Excellent patient communication and education skills
* Accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
* Ability to provide on-call nephrology consultation and coverage
* Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to the Veteran population
