Job Responsibilities
- Take call and provide nephrology consultation for 7 consecutive days each month.
- Consult on and manage the needs of post-kidney transplant patients, including dialysis orders and kidney-specific care.
- Provide consultation on liver patients requiring nephrology expertise.
- Respond to inquiries and calls from other physicians, ERs, and outside hospitals, particularly regarding immunosuppression management.
Qualifications
- Board certification in Nephrology required.
- Training or experience in transplant nephrology is essential.
Working Hours
- 24/7 call for a week-long period each month, Monday 8:00 AM to the following Monday 8:00 AM.
Skills
- Experience with dialysis patient management, post-renal transplant care, and renal biopsy preferred.
- Proficiency in peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis catheter placement is advantageous.
- BLS certification required.
