Job description
Locums in Minot, ND is seeking a Board-Certified Nephrologist to provide inpatient, outpatient, and KDU (Kidney Dialysis Unit) coverage. The assignment runs from March 21–29, 2026, with ongoing coverage to be discussed during the interview. This role includes clinic hours, inpatient consults, dialysis rounds, and 24/7 call.
Rates:
Regular Hourly rate: $285-$310, 24hr call rate: $2000-$2300 Callback: $465
Job Responsibilities
• Perform rounding during blocked inpatient hours.
• Manage new consults and follow-up patients (ED-driven, variable volumes).
• Provide 24/7 call coverage for inpatient, ER, and KDU.
• Collaborate with support staff including RN, LPN, and a Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Participate in discussions regarding required procedures and case types.
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR.
Qualifications
• Active North Dakota License or IMLC Letter of Qualification – Required
• Fellowship in Nephrology – Preferred/Standard for BC
• Ability to take 24/7 call
• Credentialing: 45–60 days
Working Hours
• 24/7 on-call coverage
• Shift: 5×8-hour shifts
• Meal Break: 30 minutes
Skills
• Dialysis patient management (KDU)
• Strong clinical judgment for consult-driven workflow
• Ability to handle high-acuity inpatient and ER nephrology cases
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
