Nephrology Physician opening 2 hours from Philly, NYC, and DC Practice Overview: An independent, multi-specialty practice located in Lebanon, PA, with over 100 employees, including 10 MDs, 4 APPs, 3 NPs, Physical Therapists, and administrative staff. Specialties encompass Internal Medicine Primary Care, Rheumatology and Osteoporosis, Nephrology, and Endocrinology. About the Practice:

  • Hospital, a 170-bed acute care facility, located 2 miles from the practice.
  • Equipped with private physician offices, 30 exam rooms, onsite lab, onsite X-ray, DXA (Bone Density), EMG, physician therapy, infusion center, fracture liaison services, and medical records facilities.
  • Satellite offices in Hershey (16 miles) and Lititz (14 miles), with DaVita sites in Lebanon. Nephrology services are currently exclusive to the Lebanon location, with potential expansion to Hershey.
  • The nephrology physician will be responsible for maintaining and expanding a full-scope nephrology practice, encompassing outpatient and inpatient duties, along with Medical Directorship at 1 DaVita site.
Schedule: Clinic hours: Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, with physicians having a 4.5-day week. Flexible start times for physicians. One week per month spent at the DaVita site, with no outpatient responsibilities but hospital rounding/consults. Volume: Clinic: Half-day, around 10-12 patients. Hospital volume varies, averaging 7-10 patients per day, primarily consult service (98%, not admissions). Referrals: In-house internists and referrals from Good Samaritan, leading to permanent patient switches to LIMA. Call Schedule: 1:2 weeknights and 1:3 weekend call, shared with Dr. Siddiqui and the Nurse Practitioner. Minimal call volume. Payor Mix: 60% Government Subsidy (Medicare)/40% Private Insurance. Candidate Parameters: MD/DO AMG/FMG BC Internal Medicine, BC/BE Nephrology No visa sponsorship available. Compensation: Base Compensation: $235K max annual salary before partnership. 1st Year: Higher of base pay or 65% as if a partner. 2nd Year: Higher of base pay or 85% if a partner. Productivity Bonus upon partnership: Base drops to $185,000 with an annual bonus of $40,000-$60,000. DaVita Compensation: $16,000/month, contributing to "collections total" each month, not shared with the other providers. Overhead: Determined by productivity, averaging 48%-50%. Collections: 60-65% of billables within 90 days, average collection rate at 20 days. Practice target is $63,000/day. Benefists: 2-year track, with partnership offered at the beginning of Year 3. Opportunity for building buy-in at Year 5, around $60,000-$75,000 (depending on Accounts Receivable status). Relocation offered. Sign-on bonus of $30K from Wellspan Hospital, requiring a 5-year commitment or percentage payback. Relocation: $3,000. Occurrence-based. Provided 401K with market match, average 8-12%. 12 days PTO, 8.5 paid holidays (increases to 18 days at partnership). 2 weeks per year plus $3,000. ST/LT Disability, Auto/gas card and insurance, Health insurance for the physician and family, cell phone, pension, can meet with the bank to waive down payments on homes.
