Permanent Neonatology Physician in Savannah, Georgia.
Position Type: Permanent
Specialty: Physician - Neonatology
Shift: 24/7 in-house Neonatology coverage with rotating day and night clinical shifts

Position Details:
Patient Population: Critically ill and premature newborns requiring advanced Level IV NICU care
Setting: 92-bed Level IV NICU within a major regional referral children's hospital

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized neonatal intensive care in a Level IV NICU

  • Manage high-acuity neonatal cases in a state-of-the-art facility

  • Participate in 24/7 in-house coverage alongside neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners

  • Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists and multidisciplinary care teams

  • Support and supervise resident physicians during NICU rotations

  • Deliver evidence-based care for critically ill and premature newborns

  • Participate in organized rounding schedules and structured call coverage

  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

  • Provide family-centered neonatal care and communication

  • Work within a large healthcare network with extensive clinical resources

Required Procedures:

  • Advanced neonatal critical care management

  • Care of critically ill and premature newborns

  • NICU admissions and patient management

  • Neonatal stabilization and resuscitation

  • High-acuity neonatal intensive care procedures

Support Staff: 9 Neonatologists, 8 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Pediatric Subspecialists, Resident Physicians, Nursing Staff, and Multidisciplinary NICU Teams
Days Per Month: Full-Time
On-Call/Weekends: Rotating weekend coverage as part of the 24/7 NICU service schedule; structured backup call system included

Requirements:

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine

  • Georgia Medical License or willingness to obtain

  • Neonatology experience required

  • Clean malpractice and license history highly preferred

  • Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days)

  • DEA required prior to start date

  • Must specify visa sponsorship requirements (J1/H1B); visa candidates not accepted
