Permanent Physician - Neonatology

Shift: In-house NICU coverage with 24/7 neonatal nurse practitioner support
Position Details:
Patient Population: Neonatal patients including extremely premature infants as young as 22 weeks gestation
Setting: Level IIIB NICU and additional Level IIIA and Level II NICU coverage within Saint Luke’s Health System
Responsibilities: Provide in-house NICU coverage, manage critically ill neonates, collaborate with neonatologists and NNPs, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and support neonatal care coordination
Required Procedures: Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO), HFOV, HFJV, therapeutic hypothermia, and management of ELGAN patients
EMR System: -
Support Staff: 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner support and collaborative neonatology team
Days Per Month: Full-time ongoing coverage
On-Call/Weekends: Yes – continuous NICU coverage including weekends with telehealth-supported out-of-house coverage
Submission Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine - Required
- Missouri Medical License or willingness to obtain - Required
- DEA prior to start - Required
- Clean Malpractice/License History - Highly Preferred
