Locums – Neonatology
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Setting: Hospital
Opportunity Overview
- Type: Per Diem
- Coverage: Day & Night shift combination
- NICU Level: Level III
- NICU Size: 40 beds
- Hospital Size: 340 beds
- Day Shift: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (2 Neonatologists)
- Night Shift: 5:00 PM – 7:30 AM (1 in-house Neonatologist)
- Staffing Model: 6 full-time Neonatologists
- Transport: Nurse-driven team with physician oversight (~15 transports/year)
- NICU Stats (2025 YTD):
- Admissions: 130
- Average Daily Census: 14.3
- Nursery ADC: 24.2
- Procedures & Services:
- High-frequency ventilation (HFOV & HFJV)
- Inhaled nitric oxide
- Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG
- Pediatric surgical patients
- No ECMO or cardiac surgery (except PDA ligations)
- Board Certification: Neonatology – Required
- State License: Virginia license required
- Recent Experience:
- Must be clinically active within the last 12 months
- Minimum 6 months of recent Neonatology experience required
