🩺 Locum Neonatologist – Southfield, Michigan

We are seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Neonatologist for an exciting locum opportunity in Southfield, Michigan. This role offers the chance to work in a Level III NICU providing critical newborn care in a collaborative hospital setting.

🏥 Position Overview

• Specialty: Neonatology

• Schedule: 7 PM – 7 AM (In-house)

• Coverage: 4–6 shifts per month

• Start Date: March 24, 2026

• Assignment: Through December 2026

• Practice Setting: Level III NICU

• EMR: Cerner / PowerChart

👶 Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide in-house NICU coverage overnight

• Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections

• Manage neonatal admissions and ongoing care

• Stabilize and coordinate neonatal transfers when necessary

• Monitor and treat critically ill newborns

• Collaborate with NICU nurses, respiratory therapists, and pediatric specialists

• Document patient care in the EMR system

📊 NICU Details

• Level III NICU

• 15-bed unit

• Average admissions: 0–4 per day

• Average daily census: ~12 patients

• Team includes multiple full-time and contingent neonatologists

💼 Additional Information

• Reason for coverage: Physician resignation

• In-house call required, including weekends

• Emergency / temporary privileges available

• Mileage reimbursement available for local providers

✅ Requirements

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Neonatology

• Neonatology Fellowship required

• Active Michigan medical license

• BLS and NRP certifications

• Clean background and malpractice history

• NPDB Self-Query report (within 30 days)

• Must currently work or have recently worked in a Level III or IV NICU

• Local providers preferred
