Locums Neonatologist
Location: Southfield, Michigan
Position Overview
- Specialty: Neonatology (Locums)
- Reason for Coverage: Resignation of an existing neonatologist
- Facility Trauma Level: Level III
- NICU Size: 15-bed NICU
- EMR: Cerner / eCare / PowerChart
- Coverage Dates: March 24, 2026 – December 31, 2026
- Shifts per Month: 4–6 shifts
- Schedule:
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- In-house overnight call
- Average Admissions per Day: 0–4
- Average Census per Shift: 12 patients
- C-Section Attendance: Required
- Level I (Well-Baby) Nursery Coverage: Not required
- Neonatal Transfers: Required
- Neonatology Group Composition:
- 3 Full-Time Neonatologists
- 2 Part-Time Neonatologists
- 4 Contingent Providers
- Board Status:
- Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Neonatology (required)
- State License:
- Active Michigan medical license in hand (no licensing in process accepted)
- Training:
- Fellowship-trained in Neonatology (required)
- Certifications:
- BLS (required)
- NRP (required)
- ACLS (required)
- Other Requirements:
- Local provider only
- Long-term locums coverage (9+ months)
- Overnight in-house call only
- Moderate census with Level III acuity
- No well-baby nursery coverage
- Strong requirements: local, licensed, fellowship-trained neonatologist
