Permanent Nurse Practitioner – Neonatology
Position Type: Permanent
Specialty: Physician - Neonatology
Location: North Carolina.
Shift: 20 hours per day shift coverage (24-hour shift type), in collaboration with Neonatologists
- Patient Population: Neonatal (Level III NICU & newborn nursery)
- Setting: Hospital-based NICU
- Responsibilities: Provide neonatal care in a 16-bed Level III NICU, manage admissions, collaborate with neonatologists, assist with newborn nursery coverage, participate in daily shift coverage and patient management
- Required Procedures: Neonatal resuscitation and Level III NICU clinical management
- EMR System: Not specified
- Support Staff: 2 Neonatologists and 5–6 NNPs
- Days Per Month: Full-time schedule
- On-Call/Weekends: 20 hours per day coverage including weekends in collaboration with Neonatologists
Submission Requirements:
- Master’s Degree and/or Doctorate in Nursing
- Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP only)
- North Carolina license (or willing to obtain)
- 2+ years employment experience as NNP (not including RN experience)
- DEA (prior to start)
- NPDB Self Query (within 30 days)
