Locum Tenens – Physician – Neonatology
Southfield, MI
Position Type: Locum Tenens
Specialty: Neonatology
Location: Southfield, Michigan
Shift: Nights – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (in-house call)
Start Date: 03/24/2026
End Date: 12/31/2026
Position Details:
Patient Population: Neonatal (Level III NICU)
Setting: Hospital – NICU
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-house overnight NICU coverage
- Attend C-sections
- Manage admissions and daily NICU care
- Transfer neonates when required
- Provide comprehensive neonatal evaluations and treatment
- Collaborate with NICU team and hospital staff
Required Procedures:
- NICU management
- C-section attendance
- Neonatal stabilization and transfers
EMR System: Cerner / Ecare / PowerChart
Support Staff:
- 3 full-time Neonatologists
- 2 part-time
- 4 contingent providers
Days Per Month: 4–6 shifts per month
On-Call/Weekends: In-house coverage
Submission Requirements:
- Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Neonatology
- Fellowship-trained in Neonatology
- Active Michigan license (license in hand)
- BLS
- NRP
- ACLS
- Clean background
- Local provider (mileage reimbursement only)
- NPDB self-query (within 30 days)
- Provider availability and number of shifts/month listed
