ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Locum Neonatologist to provide inpatient neonatal care in a Level III NICU. This role focuses on the management of neonates 28+ weeks gestation within an integrated NICU model that prioritizes family-centered care. The position includes 24-hour call coverage with support from existing hospital resources and systems.

Dates / Schedule

• Shift Length: 24-hour shifts

• Shifts per Month: Up to 16

• Patient Contact Hours: 8 hours per shift

• On-Call Requirement: 24-hour call
  

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient neonatal care in a 10-bed Level III NICU (capacity up to 12 infants short-term)

• Manage neonates with gestational ages of 28+ weeks; stabilize and transfer <28-week infants as needed

• Work within an integrated NICU model where infants remain in LDRP with family when stable

• Average daily NICU census of 6.3 patients

• No outpatient, outreach, or telehealth responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of 2 physicians; no APP supervision required

• Utilize Epic EMR

• Access to onsite medical imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services

• Participate in holiday, callback, and on-call coverage as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Neonatology

• Fellowship trained in Neonatology

• Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC (Letter of Qualification required at name clear)

• Clean malpractice and background history

• NPDB self-query pulled within the last month (or within 90 days)

• Ability to provide comprehensive inpatient neonatal care in a Level III NICU setting
