Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Maternal Fetal Medicine in Richmond, VA

Elevate maternal and fetal health during a critical period by stepping into the role of Locum Physician in Maternal Fetal Medicine. This esteemed opportunity offers the chance to provide expert care across inpatient and outpatient settings at a renowned healthcare facility, supporting a dedicated team in delivering exceptional services to high-risk pregnancies. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes, while you enjoy a flexible and rewarding assignment.

Required Skills:
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Obstetrics & Gynecology with subspecialty in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Proficiency in procedures such as Amniocentesis, Chorionic Villus Sampling, and cerclage
  • Extensive experience managing high-risk pregnancies, including hypertensive disorders, fetal anomalies, and multiple gestations
  • Strong knowledge of EMR systems, preferably EPIC or Viewpoint
  • Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience supervising or working alongside NPs, sonographers, and genetic counselors
  • Familiarity with high-volume obstetric practices
  • Additional training in fetal imaging and advanced diagnostic procedures
  • Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish (preferred but not required)

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Active medical license in Virginia or ability to obtain temporary licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years of maternal fetal medicine experience in a hospital or outpatient setting
  • Prior locum or hospital-based practice experience is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Availability to start by January 8, 2026
  • Ability to credential within approximately 90 days
  • Willingness to cover varied shifts including clinic hours (8 am - 4:15 pm, Monday through Friday), with nightly weekday call and 24-hour weekend call
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses such as flights, hotel accommodations, rental car, or mileage at IRS standard rates
