Join a busy community-based NICU in Santa Barbara County where neonatologists play a central role in advanced newborn care while maintaining a sustainable schedule. This opportunity is well-suited for both new graduates and experienced physicians who want strong clinical exposure, reliable support, and long-term stability within a collaborative care model.

Practice Details

  • Level III NICU with 21 beds and an average daily census of 15 to 16
  • Care for premature infants beginning at 22 weeks of gestation
  • Advanced respiratory support, including first-intention jet ventilation
  • Perform therapeutic hypothermia and attend high-risk deliveries
  • Transport programis currently in development, offering future program growth

Schedule

  • Minimum of 12 shifts per month for full-time status
  • Unrestricted call model designed to support work-life balance
  • Mix of in-house NICU care and delivery attendance
  • Opportunity to participate in a high-risk infant follow-up clinic

Compensation & Benefits

  • Generous guaranteed base salary with productivity incentives

  • Additional hourly compensation for high-risk infant clinic coverage

Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
  • Open to new graduates and experienced neonatologists
  • Comfortable managing high-acuity NICU patients and premature infants
  • Interest in contributing to program growth and team-based care
