Looking for your next locum opportunity in a high-acuity, well-supported NICU setting? A top facility in Richmond, Virginia is seeking Board-Certified/Eligible Neonatologists for in-house 24/7 coverage starting late July 2025 through at least August 1, 2025, with potential for extension under new group management.

📍 Position Highlights:

• NICU Level III | 40 Beds

• Avg Census: NICU ~4.3, Newborn Nursery ~24.2

• Annual Deliveries: ~4,250

• Daily Patient Load: ~5–6

🩺 Responsibilities & Skills Required:

• In-house 24/7 coverage:

  • Day Shift: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (2 MDs)

  • Night Shift: 5:00 PM – 7:30 AM (1 MD)

• Procedures/Modalities:

  • High-frequency ventilation (HFOV, HFJV)

  • Inhaled nitric oxide

  • Pediatric surgical patient management

  • Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG

• Pediatricians cover well babies

• Subspecialty support includes onsite cardiology and pediatric surgery (no ECMO or cardiac surgery beyond PDA ligation)

• EMR: Permi EHR / Meditech

✅ Requirements (No Exceptions):

• Active Virginia Medical License & DEA

• Clean malpractice & background history

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology

• Certifications: PALS, NRP, ACLS – Required

This site is expected to transition from Envision to Pediatrix on 8/1/2025, with ongoing need for locum support. Providers already privileged may be eligible to continue under the new group.
