Neonatologist opening – Long Beach, California Position Details * Full-time, permanent position with children’s & women’s hospital in Long Beach, California * Provide expert care in a Regional Level IV NICU with an average daily census of 55 and approximately 1,400 annual admissions * Collaborate closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians, Obstetric Hospitalists, and a full spectrum of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists, including a renowned pediatric cardiovascular program * Participate in advanced neonatal services such as: * Maternal and neonatal transport * Whole-body cooling * Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) therapy * Palliative care * Telemedicine * Specialized Small Baby Unit * Engage in continuous quality improvement (CQI) programs and contribute to an academic environment affiliated with the University of California Irvine and Children’s Hospital of Orange County * Support a collaborative, family-oriented work culture dedicated to high-quality care and professional growth * Schedule: Full-time, permanent position (local residency required; relocation may be necessary) * On-call and weekend coverage likely required as part of standard NICU practice * Not accepting locums or visa candidates * Providers currently in fellowship are not eligible Candidate Requirements * Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine – *Required* * Must have experience post-fellowship – *Required* * California Medical License or ability to obtain – *Required* * Clean malpractice and medical license history – *Highly Preferred* * DEA (must be obtained prior to start) – *Required* * Residency in or willingness to relocate to the Long Beach area – *Required* Compensation and Benefits * Base salary: $240,000 – $375,000 plus bonus potential * Comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance * Access to Teladoc services for convenient virtual healthcare * Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options * 401K Thrift and Profit Sharing Plan * Life insurance coverage with supplemental options * Critical illness, hospital, and accident insurance plans * Generous paid parental leave (8 weeks) and bereavement leave * Short-term and long-term disability insurance * Identity theft protection * Employee perks program and Employee Assistance Program * Full benefits apply to full-time employees (eligibility varies by classification) Practice Details * Join a prestigious and well-established NICU team providing advanced neonatal care in collaboration with academic and pediatric specialty partners * Affiliated with the University of California Irvine and Children’s Hospital of Orange County * Collegial team culture emphasizing mentorship, academic engagement, and clinical excellence Community Details – Long Beach, California * Located in sunny coastal Southern California, just south of Los Angeles * Offers a vibrant mix of city life and beachside living * Excellent schools, diverse cultural attractions, and year-round outdoor recreation * Easy access to LAX and regional airports, major universities, and world-class healthcare facilities
