Job description Locums – Alexandria, Louisiana | Neonatology Opening (IMLC Accepted) Level III NICU | Home Call | Start Date: 12/22/2025 Opportunity Overview: Seeking Board-Certified Neonatologists for per diem coverage in a 34-bed Level III NICU in Alexandria, Louisiana. This opportunity offers meaningful clinical impact, a collaborative care model, and a balanced schedule supported by 24/7 NNP coverage. Start Date

  • December 22, 2025

Schedule & Work Structure

  • Full-time team schedule: 7-on / 7-off

  • 24/7 in-house Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) coverage

  • Neonatologists take home call after rounds

  • NNP-led transport team (Neonatologist covers in-house during transports)

Clinical Scope

  • 34-bed Level III NICU with diverse acuity

  • Collaborative staffing: 2 Neonatologists + 4 NNPs

  • 1,500–2,000 deliveries annually

  • Newborn nursery rounds

  • Evidence-based, quality-driven practice environment

Required Credentials & Experience

  • Board Certified in Neonatology — REQUIRED

  • Minimum 1 year post-fellowship clinical experience — REQUIRED

  • Recent Neonatology experience within past 12 months — REQUIRED

  • Clinically active within the past 12 months — REQUIRED

  • At least 6 months specialty-specific clinical experience — REQUIRED

  • Louisiana license or IMLC eligibility — REQUIRED

  • Willing to speak with client via scheduled call — REQUIRED
