Description
A high-acuity Level III NICU is seeking a Neonatologist for 24-hour call coverage, including daily rounding and urgent response as needed. This ongoing monthly need provides consistent dates and long-term scheduling. Work within a trauma-capable, teaching environment with state-of-the-art neonatal care and strong clinical support.
Job Responsibilities
• 24-hour call coverage with daily NICU rounding
• Manage 7–12 census Level III NICU patients
• Handle ventilatory support, cardiac pressors, surfactant, lines, TPN, chest tubes, and exchange transfusions
• Respond to calls and perform rare callback hours (~4.7 hrs avg)
• Supervise and teach Family Practice residents
• Provide care for neonates <32 weeks and <1600g
• Collaborate with Laborists, Pediatric Hospitalists, & NICU RNs
Qualifications
• Board Certified/Eligible in Neonatal–Perinatal Medicine
• Active unrestricted state license
• BLS, NRP, DEA
• Must be a paneled CCS provider
• Clean malpractice history
• Recent substantial Neonatology experience
• Active staff privileges at a TJC-accredited hospital (not working solely locums)
Working Hours
• 24-Hour On-Call Shifts (daily)
• Ongoing monthly need: 11th–20th (ending AM of 21st)
• Orientation required afternoon prior to start
• Holiday & weekend call as scheduled
