Coverage Needed
- Start Date: January 11, 2026
- End Date: Ongoing
- Schedule: 24 hr call coverage
- Will need the 11th-20th (ending 21st am) of every month covered ongoing
- Specific Dates: January 11-20 (ending 21st am)
Clinical Details
- Round in the NICU at least once per day then cover calls from the nursing staff and come to the hospital based as patient condition requires
- No rounding in nursery - peds hospitalists round in the nursery
- Level III NICU
- Level II Trauma Center
- NICU patient daily census between 7-12
- EMR: Cerner Care B
- Support Staff: NICU nurses, Family Practice Residents (supervised/taught by neonatologist during Nursery rotation), Laborists, Pediatric Hospitalists
- No APP support
- Required Procedures:
- Ventilatory assistance, including ETT CPAP
- Nasal CPAP for more than 4 hours, NCPAP greater than 6 cm H2O, or FiO2 greater than 0.60
- Surfactant administration beyond the initial dose
- Administration of cardiac pressors
- FiO2 greater than 0.60
- PaCO2 greater than 50 on two arterial blood gases 1 hour apart
- Peripheral arterial line or central line
- Chest tube
- Total Parenteral Nutrition Hyperalimentation
- Exchange Transfusion
- Gestational Age <32 0/7 weeks
- Birth weight <1600 grams
Requirements
- Board Certified or Eligible in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine
- CA License
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, DEA
- Provider listed as a paneled member of California Children Services (CCS)
- Substantial recent experience covering neonatology services (not pediatrics)
- Clean malpractice record
