Position Overview:
- Location: Richmond, VA
- Facility: Henrico Doctors Hospital, a premier healthcare provider with a 40-bed Level III NICU and a dedicated single-family room model that promotes family involvement and comfort.
- Employment Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive, high-quality neonatal intensive care to critically ill newborns within the Level III NICU.
- Provide continuous, in-house coverage 24/7 alongside a dedicated team of Neonatologists, ensuring seamless and timely patient care.
- Utilize advanced neonatal therapies, including High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV), High-Frequency Jet Ventilation (HFJV), inhaled nitric oxide, and therapeutic hypothermia, to optimize clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with on-site pediatric surgery and cardiology teams to coordinate comprehensive and multidisciplinary care plans.
- Work closely with a nurse-led neonatal transport team to facilitate patient transfers and manage emergency situations efficiently.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives, safety protocols, and clinical research activities supported by Pediatrix Medical Group.
- Participate in a team-oriented culture that emphasizes continuous education, innovation, and compassionate family support.
- Focus exclusively on NICU patients; this role does not include nursery or general obstetric duties.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
- Valid medical license to practice in Virginia or eligible for licensure.
- Demonstrated expertise in neonatal intensive care, including experience with advanced therapies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to team-based care.
