A leading Richmond-based hospital is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Neonatologist to join a collaborative and innovative team providing 24/7 in-house coverage in a modern 40-bed Level III NICU. This is a full-time permanent position focused exclusively on NICU care, in a family-centered single-room care environment.
Job Responsibilities
• Participate in a 24-hour in-house Neonatologist rotation schedule
• Use advanced neonatal therapies: HFOV, HFJV, inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia
• Collaborate with pediatric surgery and cardiology specialists
• Coordinate with nurse-led neonatal transport team
• Contribute to quality improvement, safety, and clinical research initiatives
• No newborn nursery coverage required
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Pediatrics – Required
• Virginia medical license or eligibility – Required
• Clean malpractice and license history – Highly Preferred
Working Hours
• Includes weekends as part of rotational schedule
• No on-call requirements (in-house presence always)
Skills
• Strong collaboration and communication within multidisciplinary teams

• Experience with QI and research participation
