We are seeking a full-time, dedicated Neonatologist to join a team of 10 neonatologists and 5 neonatal nurse practitioners at a regional perinatal center located in beautiful Roanoke, VA. This position offers the opportunity to practice advanced neonatology medicine while enjoying the vibrant small-town lifestyle of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Job Responsibilities
Provide expert neonatal care at a 60-bed regional perinatal center and a 6-bed Level 2 NICU.
Manage and lead NICU operations as Medical Director or support as Associate Medical Director, ensuring high-quality clinical care and operational excellence.
Oversee advanced NICU services, including high-frequency ventilation, whole body cooling, and nitric oxide therapy.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pediatric and maternal-fetal medicine subspecialists, pediatric surgeons, and neonatology staff.
Support medical education by working with medical students and residents from affiliated schools.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and neonatal research projects.
Provide clinical coverage including day shifts, on-call, and weekend duties as needed.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and actively participate in leadership meetings and committees.
Qualifications
Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain
