A well-established Neonatology practice in Wichita, KS is seeking a full-time BC/BE Neonatologist to join an 8-physician team. The practice supports a 60-bed Level-III NICU with approximately 6,000 annual deliveries and 1,000 admissions each year. This is a permanent position offering extensive opportunities for QI projects, teaching, and research in affiliation with KU School of Medicine – Wichita.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide care for neonates in a Level-III NICU (60 beds).
• Work a rotating schedule with a mix of 8-hour and 24-hour shifts (approx. 170 hours/month).
• Participate in in-house call and backup call from home.
• Manage average daily census of ~54 neonates.
• Collaborate with residents, nurse practitioners, and a team of neonatologists.
• Treat a broad range of neonatal conditions (excluding ECMO and heart surgery).
• Participate in teaching and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Pediatrics – REQUIRED.
• Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine – REQUIRED.
• Fellowship-trained in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (completed prior to start) – REQUIRED.
• Kansas medical license (or willingness to obtain) – REQUIRED.
• DEA (must be obtained prior to start) – REQUIRED.
• Clean malpractice and license history – HIGHLY PREFERRED.
• Open to J1 and H1B visa candidates.
• Not accepting Locums candidates.

Working Hours

• Combination of 8-hour and 24-hour shifts.
• Approximately 170 hours per month.
• 7-week rotating schedule.
• In-house call plus backup call from home.

Skills

• Expertise in neonatal intensive care.
• Ability to manage complex neonatal conditions.
• Strong collaboration and leadership in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in quality improvement, research, or teaching preferred.
