Job Description – Neonatologist (PRN/Holiday Coverage)
Specialty: Neonatology – Level III NICU
Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Start Date: November 17, 2025
Contract Length: ~6 months, PRN
Schedule & Coverage

PRN availability needed, especially last 2 weeks of December

12- or 24-hour shifts (days/nights, flexible)

No call required
-
20–30 shifts per month covered between two NICU sites
Work Environment
-
Level III NICU – census 22–24
-
Two neonatologists during the day, one at night
-
~3,500 deliveries annually
-
High frequency + nitric ventilation
-
Occasional simple surgeries (e.g., hernia repair)

EMR: Cerner
Requirements
-
Board Certified in Neonatology
-
Active Maryland license (not accepting IMLC for this site)
-
NRP, BLS, DEA, ATLS
-
Minimum recent experience: Level III NICU within last 3 years

Competent in intubations, umbilical lines, resuscitation
Credentialing & Process

Timeline: ~60–90 days

Interview: Call with Chief of Regional Based Specialties

Offer: Typically within 72 hours post-interview + reference checks
